SmallTalk was acquired by AMP Agency and became AMP XD (Experience Division). SmallTalk Agency was a small digital marketing agency in the San Francisco Bay Area. My primary role as VP of Technology was to act as a senior marketing technology stack consultant for several enterprise clients. To support client projects I assisted in building a fledgling Martech practice within the agency to produce pitch materials, identify and hire roles for the team, and oversee project implementation. My projects included: team and project process management; implementation of agile Marketing workflows, data lake consulting, data analysis, data integrations, marketing operations support, and senior web development consultant.

Cofounded The Electron Shop in 2013, an agency focused on assisting business leaders manage marketing change. At its largest, the agency grew into a 15 person multi-discipline studio. As EVP, I assisted in executive planning, P&L/financial forecasting, hiring, and strategy. As CTO, I ran the digital marketing technology team consisting of client consultants, technical project managers, developers, data analysts, and database architects while also managing the agency's infrastructure and systems. The Electron Shop was part of a successful merger event in 2018. Our clients included Lions Clubs International, ThinkFun, Amyris, Cloudwords, GE Digital, VMware, Tres Agaves, Autodesk, and many more.

SolutionSet was a digital development agency primarily focused on web development for several large enterprise clients. I provided guidance on company wide technology initiatives with a focus on hosting environments, deployment strategies, software development life cycle, and vendor partnerships.I was technical architect for several large projects in PHP, Python, .Net, and Java. Systems architecture consultant for both logical and physical architectures with a heavy focus on cloud infrastructures and Amazon Web Services. Served as DBA for several key projects.I authored and presented client facing materials including technical documentation, requirements, project plans, and business development pitches.I also managed the Open Source engineering department with a team of 10 engineers and assisted in the management of the Systems Engineering department with a team of 4 engineers. My responsibilities included project resourcing, employee administration (timesheets, PTO requests, reviews), and development of employee training programs. I Provided other developers with knowledge and training in a wide variety of topics to assist them with debugging, best practice procedures, code performance profiling, and general framework training.

I was hired as a software engineer at CNET Networks shortly before they were acquired by CBS Interactive and worked in the Entertainment & Lifestyle division, primarily on the video gaming site GameSpotWhile there my team completed a site-wide redesign while maintaining the existing legacy code-base. I implemented Facebook-like friend activity feeds of blog/forum posts, comments, and game reviews/ratings for user profiles to improve user engagement and community interactivity. I also created a search engine keyword generator to enable on the fly "you might also like" article suggestions to readers.One of my more tactical projects was to Implement a dynamic sitemap for search engine robots that increased search based traffic to the site by over 150%.

Clear Ink was a ~75 employee digital marketing agency, I was employee number 12 when hired and assisted the company during its very rapid growth. I served as technical lead and primary developer for several key clients and served as client point of contact on major projects. I managed one associate developer and mentored other junior employees in PHP and web development techniques.My secondary role was to continue to act as the in-house IT department and I was responsible for all internal information systems, servers, and networks. I was able to establish several key vendor agreements that reduced total cost of company technology investments and equipment.

Scott Technology was a medical device manufacturer that primarily focused on wound care mattress products. I had a role in nearly every department of the business; logistics, operations, finance, information technology, purchasing, and manufacturing.I had two concurrent roles while at Scott Technology: as IT Manager I was responsible for all information systems and servers, and as Operations Supervisor I managed all inventory items and inventory systems. I created inventory and bill of materials search applications for use in self-serve kiosks throughout the organization which minimized inventory duplication and management. I also Assisted in the creation of quality manuals and processes for ISO certifications 13485:2003 and 9001:2000.
