Web Video Player (Version 2):Architected and implemented a custom web video player from scratch, focusing on modularity and extensibility. Key contributions include: • DRM and Media Playback: Integrated DRM (DASH with Widevine, FPS, CBCS) and non-DRM playback pipelines, handling encrypted media streams with robust error management, including support for offline playback via service workers for PWA environments. • API Architecture: Developed a flexible media API and a custom API layer using Proxy Interface, enabling customers to programmatically create, control, and extend player functionalities with minimal configuration. • Responsive Design & UI Optimization: Built a custom container-based media query system to ensure responsive layouts across all container elements. Designed and implemented a grid element transition algorithm to intelligently reposition and fill gaps in the control layout when some controls are unavailable or disabled. • Customization & Configuration: Enabled full player customization through dynamic CSS-based theming. Built utility features allowing customers to toggle individual player features and controls, hide or move UI elements to a settings panel, and fully re-theme the player with custom CSS.Chromecast Web Player:Developed a highly advanced Chromecast web player from scratch, offering seamless casting between web player and cast deviceA/B Testing and Cloud Integration:Implemented A/B testing using cloud functions to facilitate real-time feature experimentation and performance analytics, optimizing user engagement and playback quality based on real-world data.
