Director of Engineering, responsible for managing a team of developers building world class products that facilitate the workflow of content for translation and localization processes via eCommerce platforms and Content Management Systems. eCommerce platforms include Hybris, Demandware and Magento. Content Management Systems include SharePoint, Teamsite, Drupal, Rhythmyx, Ektron and Sitecore. Technologies used include Web Services, Spring, Hibernate. We are currently working on filters, adapters, as well as CMS integration. Coding is in Java, cSharp, PhP, and Perl.

Lead software engineer working on financial applications. My duties included performance analysis of existing applications using YourKit, developing Swing based profile pages for portfolio analysis, developing financial charts based on jFreeChart and Swing. I was also responsible for setting up the test environment, the database server and populating the database. Developed a web service using Soap to allow a trader application to communicate with a back-end application. Developed XML based database population scripts.

Hi5 Networks is a social networking company with approximately 85,000,000 registered users world-wide. I was brought on as a lead engineer to develop new features for the core application. 2 engineers reported to me. All code is written in Java. Back-end database is Postgres SQL. Application server is Resin. Other technologies being used include Struts and AJAX. Lead engineer on the framework to internationalize the site. I worked on a back-end customer service application to monitor account compliances. My responsibilities included task scheduling, interfacing to the business end to define requirements, design, coding and testing. I was also responsible for developing the cache framework. Projects included: new profile fields, new caches, featured users, profile scoring, in-line editing, photo management, admin tools and internationalization. An Agile software development process was put in place to help control project scheduling and task assignments.

eBay is an on-line auction company. They formed a new group to handle classified Ads for all countries outside the United States. I was brought on to help the engineering group deliver some new functionality. I was responsible for several projects that included Ad Rating using AJAX, database updates, improving user experience. Code was written in Java. Back-end database was Oracle. Application server was Websphere.

Rearden Commerce is a Services-On-Demand startup company. The first phase involves developing employee business services. I was responsible for the Package Shipping vertical. I was the lead engineer/manager with five local engineers reporting to me and two off-shore engineers reporting to me. I was responsible for the overall design and performance of the vertical as well as managing the engineers reporting to me. This included project scheduling, assigning tasks, managing workloads, and weekly status meetings. All code was written in Java. The application runs under Tomcat and uses Oracle 9i as the back-end database. The UI layer utilized Struts and tags. I also worked on the adapter layer that acts as the interface between the work flow engine and the suppliers. The adapter layer translates requests and responses for each of the carriers and handles error handling. I also worked on the admin console to implement the rules and configuration for package shipping. This also included some UI work to code up the rule pages. I have also be involved in the data model design for the vertical and worked with the DBA group to define some of the stored procedures.

Arzoon is a software logistics firm providing logistics information to global 2000 companies and their carriers. I was responsible for the architecture, design and development of several key services including purchase orders, shipment entry, shipment validation, shipment execution, spot quote (auction), tracking and administration. I was also responsible for the OLTP data model design, data access layer, business objects and SQL queries. All code is written in Java. Database is Oracle 8i. Servlet container is Resin. Development is on NT boxes, while deployment is on Solaris. I developed/worked on over 100 JSP pages. I worked with the business development team in defining the business /product requirements and converting them into engineering requirements. I worked with other system architects in defining the architecture, data warehousing requirements, OLTP requirements, technologies and performance requirements. I had three engineers reporting to me.

Responsible for leading a team of software engineers in designing, coding and testing back-end transportation services. All services were written in C++ under HPUX. Worked with the business group to develop the functional requirements. Rational Rose was used to develop the logic models as well as the class models. Worked with the senior engineers to develop the main business objects Responsible for the design of the data model and the queries that accessed it. The back-end database was Informix. Designed and developed the following back-end services for a web-based product that was used by medium sized businesses: registration, account validation, shipment entry, airway bill generation, rate query, and routing. Used MQ Series to communicate between disparate computers. Developed the first in-house Servlet. Code was written in Java using the ServletExec container.

Lead a team of 6 engineers developing a billing system for the dialysis industry. Software was written using PowerBuilder. Database was Oracle. I was responsible for project scheduling, task assignments, and software development processes.

Responsible for verification and validation processes as well as forging cohesiveness between disparate groups involved in the project. Consultant responsible for defining the requirements and validating the design for an electronic toll collection system. Worked on the requirements for an electronic toll collection system for the city of Boston.

Designed and developed traffic control systems and freeway traffic management systems. Designed and managed a group of 18 Taiwanese engineers developing a traffic control system for the city of Taipei.
