I worked in the Lighting Department responding to the needs and requests of the Event + Show Services Division. I was responsible for many things including identifying repair and maintenance needs of the lighting inventory. I prepared lighting equipment and accessories that are used on shows/rentals I also checked in and inspected the lighting inventory when it returned to the shop. Part of my duties was to assist in the loading and unloading of trucks throughout the day.I also worked on events as a Show Technician. My duties included helping set up the lights for the event, programming the lighting board for the event, running the lights during the show, and striking after the completion of the event.

I worked as a TA on campus while getting my Masters. As a Teaching Assistant, I was in charge of teaching one class every semester. In my first year, I taught the Lighting Lab where I taught students how to set up the lights for shows and maintained the lighting stock. In my last two years, I taught Lighting Design 1. In that class, I introduced students to Lighting Design. On top of being Teaching Assistants, the MFA students were required to supervise and help out during work calls. There we taught students how to set up the Lighting aspects of the show. We also had to work as electricians during this time. In my last year, I also mentored an Undergraduate student who was Designing the Lights for a show.

As well as programming the Light and Soundboards. During the shows, I would run the Lighting and Sound Boards as well as the Follow spot if used. During this summer I also was in charge of designing the sounds for each show. I also was in charge of maintaining the lighting and sound design during the show, and needed to maintain all lighting and sound equipment over the summer.
