I worked in the Policy Coordination unit in the Strategic Policy branch of Advanced Education. The Policy Coordination Unit is responsible for tracking and reporting on current initiatives, facilitating communication between Divisions, the Deputy Minister and Minster's Office, and building policy capacity around decision-making in government. I also serve as a co-chair for the APS LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group, supporting our community within the GoA, across the province.

As the University Governance and Advocacy Advisor (uGAA), I served as one of the primary strategic advisors on university advocacy for the Students’ Union Executive. Reporting both to the President and General Manager, I was responsible for research and policy analysis, record keeping, strategic planning and general advice regarding governance and academic affairs at the University of Alberta. I also directly onboarded and supervised two undergraduate research analysts.

As Vice-President Academic, I was responsible for much of the advocacy related to academic issues at the University of Alberta. This position was an ex officio member on many boards and committees, including the Students' Union Policy Committee, the General Faculties Council (GFC), multiple GFC standing committees and subcommittees, the Council of Faculty Associations and its working groups and more. I also elected to get involved in other committees including the Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Working Group, open educational resource groups and the Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation Committee (ARRC) of Students' Council. I also worked closely with all of the student faculty and department associations to ensure that students receive the best possible education at the University of Alberta.

I also support the University & Advocacy Advisor and the DRPA to support internal and external advocacy.

I also performed a variety of administrative duties to support the delivery of the program. On several occasions I collaborated with the ESS Leadership team to develop sections of the ESS program and ensure it's success.

My role was to greet customers in a polite and professional manner, Identify specific needs, assist with selection and provide advice, process sales quickly and efficiently, and to maintain display areas and sales floor during shift. I also had some experience in developing merchandising in store.
