I'm Simon Shapiro, a dedicated finance student at Indiana University. My interest in AP statistics and economics in high school led me to discover the compelling relationship between these two fields, which started my path into the world of finance. These courses gave me essential skills in economic management and data analysis, which sparked this passion.My aim as I start my academic career at Indiana University is to combine my appreciation of finance with a solid background in quantitative analysis. My career goal is to work as a financial analyst, leveraging my analytical abilities to help businesses succeed by making wise investment decisions. A practical example of my analytical skills was demonstrated during my tenure as head counselor at Camp Kawaga, where I successfully managed diverse challenges presented by campers aged 8 to 15. By applying child-care strategies and analytical thinking, I developed refined solutions that addressed individual needs while upholding the overall mission of camp itself. This role improved my problem-solving skills and highlighted the importance of adaptability and leadership in real scenarios. I am committed to expanding my knowledge in finance while also seeking opportunities to make a positive impact in the financial world.
