Simulator Relocation Technician
CurrentContracting primarily to Quadrant Systems and latterly RSI, responsible for providing Electrical and Mechanical support as part of specialist teams relocating Flight Simulators on international contracts, working on equipment manufactured by various simulator OEMs, including CAE, TRU, FSI, SIM-Industries, Boeing B737-800W. Specifically:• Electrical dis-assembly, including fully documenting “as is” system, cable marking, removal and protection.• Mechanical dis-assembly, including fully documenting “as is” system, marking, removing parts and protecting.• Visual System removal, safe handling, and protection, including Mylar, BP Screens and Domes, and Projection Systems from multiple OEMs.• Motion system preparation, removal, safe handling, and protection, both Hydraulic and Electrical systems from multiple OEMs.• Simulator Packing and Vehicle Loading / Unloading, including Loading / Unloading OOG items.• Electrical layout and equipment positioning, cutting floor tiles, cable running and electrical modifications.• Mechanical layout, including use of OEM templates, equipment positioning, floor drilling and setting anchors.• Visual and Motion System Installations, including use of various lifting equipment, aircraft jacks, bus jacks, etc.• Mechanical modifications and mechanical troubleshooting to suit new facility requirements.• Support to pre and post relocation Baseline Testing, and Re-commissioning.
