Project budget = $300,000.Project achievements:• Designed, manufactured and commissioned a new Tri-axial Permeameter and data acquisition system for the Centre for Coal Seam Gas.• Successful project delivery to QGC/Shell about the permeability and stress-strain characterization of Surat Basin’s coal samples.• Coal permeability model using a novel, simple, economical, and time effective approach to estimate the gas flow in a coal seam gas reservoir.Core competencies: • Permeability measurement using triaxial stress permeameter (TSR) and standard laboratory core analysis (SLCA). • Porous material characterization, coal characterization and mechanical properties of solids.• Instrumentation assembly for transducers, regulators, strain gauges, ISCO pump. • LabView programming for data logging, controlling and monitoring of instruments.• Sample preparation and storage. • Flow network connections using Swagelok flow system.• Designing, manufacturing, commissioning and operation of high pressure complex laboratory equipment.• Multiphysic and Stocastic modeling and simulation using Comsol and Matlab. • Data analysis and technical report writing.Effective communication, project presentation, staff and laboratory management.• Risk assessment and managing risks of high pressure and flammable gases. -
