As the CEO of Norway Insurances Operations, my mission is to create and secure value within the insurance industry. I also lead an alliance of independent entities, all dedicated to the same mission, and are responsible for managing the legally mandated schemes; The Norwegian Natural Perils Pool, Norwegian Motor Insurers’ Bureau, and The Occupational Injury Insurance Association.I firmly believe insurance plays a fundamentally important role in our modern society. When misfortune strikes and your house is damaged, insurance steps in to secure your assets and maintain your financial security. This also enables you to utilize your property as collateral for loans. The vital role the industry plays deeply motivates me and drives my commitment to the industry. The insurance industry has a long tradition of taking responsibility by preventing damages. The industry has been a pioneer in preventive efforts concerning fire and water damages. Furthermore, it has improved the quality of security equipment through certification schemes and actively worked to prevent insurance fraud. Going forward, the industry will continue to be a significant contributor to sustainable development. In recent years, the pension system in Norway has undergone extensive reforms such as the introduction of the Individual Pension Account (Egen pensjonskonto) and "Pension from the first krone" ("Pensjon fra første krone"). Increased life expectancy will necessitate further development of pension schemes in the future. The insurance industry in Norway has become increasingly digitized. This has contributed to the Nordic region having a leading position internationally in automation within the industry. Norway Insurances Operations has contributed with development of an efficient IT-infrastructure. Although the industry has made significant progress, the potential for further development remains substantial. We are well positioned to play a key role in future development.I hold a Master’s degree in industrial economics and Technology Management from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
