Worked with Fortune 500 companies and local businesses to identify promotional product programs, gifts for corporate and personal events and employee incentive programs. Coordinated all aspects of this process including creative selection, order placement, follow up and accounts receivable. In my role as the AVP, I was responsible for business operations including finance, billing and data processing for home care, palliative care, hospice, centers for rehabilitation and nursing care, adult day health care, pediatric home care and hospice, as well as health plans and a general insurance agency. I developed several collection procedures which resulted in our system collecting A/R 50 days faster than the average home health care agency and recommended and implemented procedures that cut accounts receivable by an additional 30%. I worked closely with the IT department to create a tracking system for doctor’s orders and clinical notes as well as preparing for new Medicare reporting requirements

I performed all project management for operational engagements. As a manager, I insured high quality service; managed client expectations; built strong client relationships and effectively managed both the engagement budget and the delivery team’s productivity. I developed the operational component of a million-dollar clinical resource utilization cost reduction product for the firm. I developed and implemented business plans for the consolidation of home health businesses in multi hospital provider networks, cost reduction plans and business process reengineering for large regional/national providers. I created new and revised tables of organization with accompanying authority, accountability, control and follow-up mechanisms. I trained staff in electronic billing and automated document tracking processes. I assessed the regulatory compliance of home health providers, and estimated the level of risk associated with current operations practices. I created and performed market surveys, competitor assessments, profitability analyses and viability studies to evaluate program development and alliance opportunities for home health and DME/HME companies. I also performed acquisition due diligence work for hospitals and other facilities acquiring home health providers through operational assessments. I designed plans to improve referral linkages and identified partnering opportunities for providers.

Post-acute care sales. Performed operational assessments and improvements of home health agencies to optimize efficiency of workflows and cost effectiveness. Provided assistance in information system selection and implementation. This included staff training and system configuration. Provided numerous hospital systems with retail home medical equipment (HME) viability assessments for developing retail HME stores. Designed and implemented work flow and paper flow systems and conducted staff training in the use of the systems. Assessed billing and collection practices and performed accounts receivable reduction analysis. This included developing and managing electronic billing and automated document tracking resulting in significant cash collections and improved efficiency. Designed demand analysis models for home care agencies

Assisted the Executive Director with the design and implementation of the company's new accounting, budgeting and cost reporting system. Designed and implemented a clinical document tracking system resulting in improved cash collections and compliance with Medicare regulations. I acted as trouble-shooter for major billing accounts resulting in the collection of over $800,000 that had been previously written off as bad debt. I was responsible for the electronic transmission of Medicare claims and manually filed insurance claims for Medicaid, Champus, private pay and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Analyzed and compiled monthly infection control, admission, clinic and time study reports. Responsible for CPT and ICD-9 coding.
