Managed all operations of a $3.8 million store. I supervised 5 supervisors and 20 store associates. Responsible for the analysis of business volume and to increase the store activity and profitability. Directed all store functions including but not limited to, store opening and closing, receiving/shipping, visual merchandising, loss prevention, and customer service. Also, responsible for human resources within the store which included but not limited to, hiring, terminations, coaching and counseling, reviews, new hire paperwork, maintaining employee files, and training, Proficient in MS Word, Excel, & Outlook, Peoplesoft, and AS400 programs.

Began as Assistant Manger, promoted to Store Manager in 1996 and to Senior Store Manager in 1997. As store manager, I increased store from $1.5 million to $2.0 million and controlled P & L at store level. In addition to day-to-day operations of my base store, I was responsible for hiring and training new store managers, opening new stores, covering for district manager while she was on vacation, and training with the district manager.

Responsible for allocating merchandise to stores and ensuring product has hit the distribution centers. Also responsible for generating mark downs and RVA's for missy blouses dept. and frames, stationery, candy and gourmet items. Wrote orders using Lotus 1-2-3, wrote advertising copy, tracked sales, checked purchase journals and communicated with 75 stores. Assisted buyer in analyzing business.Promoted to Merchandise Coordinator (2nd Assistant Manager) in Evansville, In & Clarksville, TN stores. Assisted in managing both which were $5.5 million stores in volume and each had around 50 employees. Relocated to Lexington location which was $10 million in volume and 100 employees. Responsible for daily operations of stores. Merchandised store and trained dept managers to merchandise their departments. Alleviated advertising problems and ensure advertising is set up in store, communicated needs with buyers, controlled price adjustments, transfers, RVA's, order checking, damages, and tracked each dept figures. Also responsible for solving customer and employee issues, coverage of staff, security, and credit card issues, as well as customer service.
