Having over 20 years of experience in Drafting and Design, I worked my way up the corporate ladder. I was employed by Jacobs Engineering in Oragneburg, SC & Baton Rouge, LA; I then moved back to Alabama as an employee for Cater-Hays-Staub consulting engineering firm. After three years of employment drawing duct work Itook a job as designer of manufactured houses with Franklin Homes. I worked in themanufactured housing industry for three years obtaining the title of Plant Engineer. This made me third in command of the facility. In December of 1998, I was contactedby a recruiter who was looking for someone with my education and experience to workfor the world's largest log home company. I traveled to SC to look things over and fell in love with Southland Log Homes. I was employed at Southland Log Homes from March-1999 until November-2005 when I was promoted to VP of Design. Then in November -2006 I was transferred to VP of Materials.   I have joined the fight to educate people about MS. I am active in sending e-mails to senators and congressman about issues that affect research, medical treatments, the varying disabilities caused by MS, and all other applicable measures that will keep the fight alive for a cure! MS affects everyone differently, so there is no stero-typical case study to draw conclusion from. This is why I am so emotional about this cause. People look at me today and they see me as a normal person. I look, talk, walk, and for the most part act normal. My soon to be Ex-Wife says that for the last 18 months she has been married to a stranger. My children just know that Dad got sick and he doesn't work anymore. My son is 18 and my daughters are 16 and 11. They are all old enough to know if Dad is different. I found a self help group in Lexington that I could join. I alsolearned I could be an online activist. I joined that as well. I have been firing e-mails to politicians ever since.
