I am fascinated by a variety of scientific, engineering, and technological fields. Gaining an understanding of how the world around me works has always interested me. It is because of that interest and fascination that I have devoted my time, education, and career to the gaining and spreading of STEM knowledge to myself, my community, and the world. I earned a bachelor's degree in Physics from Henderson State University and completed my MS degree in Microelectronics & Photonics (MicroEP) at the University of Arkansas. The interdisciplinary nature of the MicroEP program has more than prepared me with the skills and sharpened my tenacity for a number of science, engineering, and technology ventures. My written and oral communication skills are excellent and have often been put to use through my involvement in STEM-based outreach programs and numerous other opportunities. I served for two years as an NSF GK-12 Fellow in Northwest Arkansas. Being a GK-12 Fellow allowed me to serve as a "Resident Scientist" in 6th grade Science and Math classrooms to help students gain knowledge of STEM concepts through inquiry-based learning. I have also had the opportunity to represent the University of Arkansas, as well as my research lab, at conferences and workshops. I thrive in both individual and group work settings. I both understand and respect the need for individual accountability and respect the value of learning from peers. Most of all, I am a committed life-time learner and very coachable. I have a strong determination for understanding and for the achievement of an excellent outcome.
