Design was something that seemed to find its way into to my life in any form possible. From party planning, to personal style and then of course home and business design, I could not keep shutting the doors that were continuing to open. Once I finally gave in and began designing as a job, the opportunities really took off and far surpassed my original ideas. At one point in this career my client list was so large and impressive that I felt like yelling from the roof top..."hey everyone, I have never been to school for this, I have never been properly trained." I felt as if it was my duty to inform these paying customers about my credentials or lack there of. One afternoon, I was presenting a projected budget to client to complete a master suite. The budget was well over anything I had done before and definitely the most lavish design budget I had ever presented for one room. When the client approved the budget, and we began to talk small talk, within in minutes the fact they I had no formal design training was confessed by me in a sheepishly, father for forgive me for I have sinned sorta tone. My client laughed and said "no one ever taught Monet to paint, IT is either in you or it is not, IT can not be taught." That was a fact I always knew, it was nice to know that the people who really counted in my line of work, knew it to. Design flows out of me like a rushing flood water, unexpected and uncontrollable. Once the rage and purposeful flow of one' natural talent is complete, the view for others is new and refreshing. Design picks true designers, we really have no say in the matter.
