In this senior leadership position as Assistant Vice President for Community Relations & Communications for Mote Marine Laboratory, I was responsible for leading all communications efforts to enhance the brand of the organization and to support research, fundraising/development, education and aquarium programs. I managed a $4 million budget that included communications, membership, venue rentals and marketing of Mote’s Florida specialty license plate, Protect Our Reefs.In addition to marketing and public relations campaigns, I developed digital strategies, including oversight of www.mote.org redesign, and managed the Lab’s community and government relation activities. I initiated and led rebranding efforts for Mote, including management of all strategies and tactics executed by internal members and contracted agencies. I successfully managed the organization’s Community Relations and Communications department, which included 14 employees across the state. Under my leadership the department grew and expanded its scope of responsibility and staff size.

Responsible for the strategy, coordination and implementation of communications efforts, advertising and promotions focused on elevating the overall awareness of Mote to support fundraising efforts and advance Mote’s mission, to generate Aquarium attendance and to create sponsorship opportunities to support corporate partners.
