I was fortunate to spend my first 13 professional years in industrial security, ensuring compliance with national security guidelines supporting our nation's warfighters. My career honed my analytical, time management, and organizational skills, but I felt a pull to develop deeper interpersonal relationships. After having my first child, that feeling only grew, so I started to explore roles in patient care. Life responsibilities and a little fear made it difficult to make that transition, so I started getting more involved in my community. Five years ago, I became a licensed foster parent, which gave me both education and practical experience to confirm my innate desire to nurture and support others. I have been providing respite and permanent care ever since. With a newfound passion and an insatiable curiosity, I left security two years ago to earn my degree in nursing. I am now an OR RN at Mount Carmel Health Systems!
