The Health, Equity, Advocacy, and Leadership (HEAL) project is a Tulare County-based substance use disorder prevention program with the privilege of serving Visalia’s Latinx, African American, Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, and LGBT+ youth through community-centered, trauma-informed and healing-centered approaches. HEAL aims to amplify youth voices, partner with youth in creating policy and systems change and support young people with trauma-informed support services to disrupt the root causes of substance use disorders and center community healing among BIPOC, Latinx, AANHPI and LGBT+ youth and their families.
