In addition to serving as a Scrum Master for two teams, in the role of Release Train Engineer/TPM, I create and manage project plans. Daily I collaborate with many different groups, both internally and externally to coordinate efforts as outlined in the project roadmaps. I have the opportunity to present to leadership to share project progress, changes in scope, challenges, and opportunities. A key part of my role is anticipating, mitigating, and removing obstacles yet ensuring we maintain quality and performance. I help coordinate staffing and resource needs. I am enjoying the role of RTE/TPM as I still have close contact with engineers, researchers, and other colleagues in many areas of the business while also having the opportunity to communicate with leadership and stakeholders.

As a Scrum Master with Sustainable1, I led five Scrum teams through all sprint events: planning, daily stand-ups, refinements, reviews, and retrospectives. Through the Scrum framework and Agile methodologies, I encouraged my teams to incorporate SAFe core values into their work and final products (transparency, alignment, built-in quality, and program execution). I was also responsible for creating and organizing project release roadmaps, which identified risks, milestones, dependencies, and handoffs. I shared projections of work to be accomplished with stakeholders to manage expectations and limit scope creep.The Sustainable1 division of S&P Global supports the delivery of ESG data and analytics leading to sustainable decisions, with the goal of lowering environmental impact through the use of ongoing tracking and measurement.

Within Survey Operations, I was fortunate to coach a team of dedicated developers. While the team had been embracing Agile for a while, I helped them transition to the Scrum Framework. As the Scrum Master, I enjoyed seeing our incremental delivery gain momentum delivering both internal job satisfaction and value to our clients.

I provided beginning-to-end project management for short-term qualitative and quantitative hybrid research projects. The blend of qualitative and quantitative provided not only excellent insights to our clients but also challenged me professionally. I gained experience in evaluating techniques using multiple lenses.

Acting as a servant leader, I facilitated a Scrum Team of developers, quality engineers, and user-acceptance-testers. Working across many levels of the organization, including key stakeholders, allowed me to grow as a Scrum Master. Managing scope creep, dependencies within and across teams, documentation, and communication were paramount in the success of our sprints which ultimately resulted in delivering value to our clients.

Balancing sample, quotas, and time constraints, I collaborated with both internal and external clients to develop surveys that were clear, concise, and addressed needed business questions across multiple simultaneous projects. I conducted statistical analyses using SPSS software to provide actionable insights to our clients. I trained and mentored newer analysts on the team.

In this role, spanning multiple projects and industries, I wore several hats: survey programming, data processing, and data analysis, all while being cognizant of demographic and special needs such as segmentation. I programmed customer surveys with confirmIT (via JavaScript). I authored SPSS syntax for statistical analysis and used SPSS Survey Reporter to prepare digestible and exhaustive survey data results for discussion with clients.
