Director of Charlotte's Place Clubhouse– Aspire Health PartnersJob responsibilities include: Manage the Clubhouse Program at Aspire Health Partners, following the standards of the Clubhouse International model. Managing a staff of 5 people, interns, and pre-practicum students. The Clubhouse provides an environment focused on recovery from severe, chronic, mental illness. The goal of the Clubhouse is to help people on the road to recovery, advocate for members in the community, develop job opportunities, and provide the tools and best practices to enable those living with mental illness to get back on their feet and fully participate in their communities. Participate in weekly treatment team meetings, where clients of the agency are staffed to ensure proper care is being provided, and that all possible services are being offered. Also document progress, and develop treatment plans in accordance with medicaid guidelines, and document all psychiatric assessments and progress notes in the EMR.

Sanford, Florida

Manage the indigent drug program for Seminole Behavioral Health (ordering medications, stocking pharmacy, reports, manage annual indigent drug budget). Manage Patient Assistance program for the underinsured, allowing them access to free and reduced priced medications. Program liaison for the partnership between AHEC, and Seminole Behavioral Healthcare’s, Quit Smoking Now program. Facilitate Quit Smoking support groups, manage distribution of nicotine replacement therapy drugs, and provide individual counseling for smoking cessation as a Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist. Facilitate the Peer Forum of Seminole Behavioral, a consumer advocacy group comprised of clients who are in recovery. Supervisor of the Medical Benefits Department, overseeing two additional employees, and reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer of Seminole Behavioral Healthcare (Aspire Health Partners).

Job responsibilities include: Engaging members with chronic mental illness in meaningful, work ordered, tasks. Providing support for education, employment, housing, and making referrals for services as needed. Developing treatment plans, completing FARS, updating and maintaining client information, and recording notes on each person, on a weekly and monthly basis, using an electronic medical records system.

As a CASA, you are appointed by the court to represent the best interest of any child who has come into state care. Children come into care as a result of abuse, neglect, abandonment, behavioral issues, or protection orders. Once assigned to a child, a thorough investigation into the issue must be conducted; this includes interviewing anyone who may be involved or have information useful to the case, school records, teacher, counselor, medical records, and criminal records. At the time of the court hearing, the CASA reports their findings to the judge, and recommends what they think ought to be done.This is tremendously important work, as such it can be the most rewarding, or heartbreaking, work you will ever do. It is a voluntary job so there is no monetary reimbursement, but in my opinion, it is priceless.

Duties include: Representing children who come into the court system by abuse or neglect, report to the court, investigate claims, write court reports and I am currently mentoring new CASA volunteers.
