Staley Clark, mezzo-soprano, is in her second year as a graduate student at the University of Tennessee Knoxville, where she is focusing on a Master of Music. During her time at UT, Clark has performed many stage roles, including Baba from Gian-Carlo Menotti's The Medium, La Zia Principessa from Giacomo Puccini's Suor Angelica, Hänsel from Engelbert Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel, and Praskovia in Franz Lehar's The Merry Widow. In the spring of 2024, Clark will be performing her first French title of Madame de la Halitère in Jules Massenet's Cendrillon. In 2022, she graduated from Murray State University where she pursued a Bachelor of Arts in vocal performance. There, she has participated in the National Association of Teachers of Singing Collegiate Competition in 2020 and 2021. Stage roles during her time at Murray State include Kate from Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance, La Messaggera from Claudio Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo, Mother from Engelbert Humperdinck's Hänsel and Gretel (though canceled due to COVID-19), and Mother from Seymour Barab’s Little Red Riding Hood. Alongside these, Clark has performed in several opera scenes from Carmen, H.M.S Penafore, and Le Nozze di Figaro. She has sung alongside the Paducah Symphony Orchestra’s Chorus during her time at Murray State University.
