Stanislaus Bishop is a Saint Lucian communications specialist, freelance writer, blogger, photographer, environmentalist and entrepreneur.He began his career in journalism on April 23, 2008, as a reporter for The VOICE Newspapers in Saint Lucia. While there, he covered current affairs, politics, tourism, environmental issues, business, arts and entertainment, and human interest stories, and also had two regular columns in The VOICE Newspapers, namely “Strictly Business” and “If You Asked Me”.In September 2012, Bishop was among the first batch of students in the one-year Journalism and Media Studies Course run by Monroe College (Saint Lucia campus) from which he graduated with a Certificate in Journalism and Media Studies.Bishop has covered assignments further afield: in Barbados, Grenada, Antigua and Barbuda, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Republic of China (Taiwan), Morocco, Martinique, Haiti, Israel and Panama.In August 2016, Bishop was promoted to the post of Assistant Editor of The VOICE Newspapers, understudying acclaimed Saint Lucian journalist, Guy Ellis. From March 2017 to February 2018 when he resigned from The VOICE Newspapers, he was the Editor of The VOICE Newspaper.From May 2019 to February 2021, Bishop served as Editor/Chief Content Officer of SLYOU Magazine, which is published by SLYOU Marketing, a company he helped form in early 2019. He was also the lead writer for SLYOU Business Magazine from May 2019 to February 2021.He has written features and press releases for Saint Lucia Business Focus Magazine, OECS Business Focus Magazine, ZiNG Magazine, SLYOU Business Magazine, Caribbean Association of Banks (CAB) Magazine, LUCELEC Health and Safety Booklet, Milestone Magazine, as well as for other publications and clients. In February 2021, Bishop founded and registered his first company, Definission Media, of which he is the Chief Executive Officer.
