Credit bureau startup in Russia. Amazing story of turning a $500 thousand investment into a leading credit data processing institution in Russia worth hundreds of million. I was tasked in 2005 by Global Payments and PPF (HomeCredit Bank) to set up a credit bureau in Russia as a 50:50 joint venture. We have built the largest credit bureau in the market. In 2008, we executed sale of half the company to strategic partner Equifax.

Primary mission was to manage the bank during a pre-sale period until the transaction closure. Czech owner decided to sell the bank and hired new management to process it. After the deal was closed, I stayed another year as head of treasury representing the Czech minority owner on the bank’s board.
