About Stanislav Nagy
Research biologist interested in neuronal modulation of animal behavior, inter organ communication, image analysis techniques and data analysis. PhD in biochemistry and postdoctoral experience studying behavior of the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans and using the fruit fly Drosophila to understand the relationship between environment, genes, metabolism, and behavior using a variety of approaches. Currently a member of the AI technology team at Gubra developing and providing data analytics at the leading edge of preclinical drug development.

Designed, planned and executed a multidimentional genetic screen using Drosophila melanogaster. Using RNAi, we screened >200 secreted factors and transmembrane sensing proteins, specifically in secretory cells of the gut, and assayed their role in regulating a range of systems. The collective phenotypic space included measurements of survival under stress (nutrient, osmotic, and oxidative), levels of stored nutrients (lipids and sugars) under homeostatic and starvation conditions, fecundity… Show more Designed, planned and executed a multidimentional genetic screen using Drosophila melanogaster. Using RNAi, we screened >200 secreted factors and transmembrane sensing proteins, specifically in secretory cells of the gut, and assayed their role in regulating a range of systems. The collective phenotypic space included measurements of survival under stress (nutrient, osmotic, and oxidative), levels of stored nutrients (lipids and sugars) under homeostatic and starvation conditions, fecundity (their ability to reproduce), as well as sleep and feeding behaviors. The goal was to discover novel targets involved in the gut's role to affect a range of peripheral systems and animal homeostasis. Currently I’m developing an analytical approach to better leverage this multi-parameter dataset to describe potential phenotypic spaces and understand the interaction between metabolism, stress tolerance, fecundity and behavior. Post-Doctoral Scholar
Postdoctoral fellow in the lab of David Biron. My focus was 1. characterizing mechanisms that regulate quiescence behavior in the nematode C. elegans and 2. development of high temporal and spacial quantitative behavioral analysis of C. elegans behavior with the aim of understanding the modulation, maintenance and regulation of locomotive patterns on developmental and immediate timescales.
