I have over six years of experience in community development and social capital management, and I currently work as a Disabled Veteran Outreach Specialist at DC Department of Employment Services. In this role, I assist veterans, spouses, and other qualified individuals with significant barriers to employment, such as disabilities, homelessness, or low income, by providing them with career counseling, job placement, and supportive services.I am also the co-founder and Community Development Liaison of HUMANITY TO THE RESCUE, a social capital development and management firm that I led as a General Manager for four and a half years. Through this organization, I have created and implemented various initiatives and programs that aim to empower individuals and communities to recognize and utilize their unique strengths, talents, and resources to achieve their goals and overcome their challenges. Some of these initiatives include a mentorship program for young entrepreneurs, a scholarship fund for low-income students, and a social media campaign to raise awareness and funds for disaster relief. My mission is to help people and communities build social capital and positive change, using my skills and knowledge in social media marketing, communication, and fundraising. I have a Master of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences from St. John's College, and a Bachelor of Arts and an Associate of Arts in Political Science and Government from Long Island University and Nassau Community College, respectively. I have also earned certifications in Nonprofit Fundamentals, Advanced Grammar, and Social Media Marketing Foundations from LinkedIn, which have enhanced my ability to write engaging and compelling content, communicate effectively with diverse audiences, and generate support and donations for my causes and organizations. I am passionate about finding and applying the basic principles upon which life and the human mind are based, to understand others, and to educate people to a clear, logical interpretation of life.
