Purchasing Analyst
CurrentLumotech manufactures & supply lights to OEMs. My main function is to drive the Localisation initiative and support our local suppliers. This is to achieve reduction in supply risk, gain potential savings. This will result also in building our nation. I also control all BBBEE procurement duties.Functions: Research product comparisons, quality and prices Make enquiries, evaluate suppliers then resource on the basis of price, quality, and selection; service, support, and availability. Strive towards purchasing the highest quality goods/materials at the least possible cost and in correct quantities Accurately report all project milestones to top management Analyze different commodity markets to understand market trends and ensure that the organization is using the right supplier Maintain a network of parts and equipment suppliers Work together with sales representatives, purchasing agents, and engineering department on new and existing sales, or when a problem arises Evaluate samples received and send to relevant quality divisions for testing's, measurements and trials Arranging documents/tasks relevant to automotive procedure for resourcing/localising (these include PPAPs, Internal sample Approval Request forms(ISAR), Internal Deviations & initiating Engineering Change Request documentations for ECR committee) Presentations to Senior Managers/Directors in Localization meeting showing potential savings, feedback status on current items wanting to localize BBBEE: Requesting updated certification from suppliers Guiding suppliers with turnover R10M or less how to obtain a cert Compiling reports and balancing before handing over to senior management Loading results and updates onto the system and internet Additional functions: Loading and maintaining new suppliers on system. A complete screening is done before adding to base. Assisting with Exec Reports (this means compiling different reports into one master file for Exec meetings)
