Pre-order and cake line specialist had the same duties as a traditional cashier, but with added responsibilities. As a pre-order specialist I was part of a team trained to take orders and place them into a system for us to later process said order; orders would usually contain specialty or custom items not traditionally shown on the menu, and we would have to account for the proper timing of non-traditional menu items. While also making sure that other departments were in time with our production output. In the cake line, I was part of a small team trained to take cake orders, along with preparing custom chocolate lettering on cakes. As part of the cake line team, I was occasionally put in the fridge to display product, follow FIFO procedures, and take damaged or expired cakes to their proper locations for handling.
