Responsible for defining the mission and vision of the organization; evaluating the chief executive; monitoring program effectiveness; protecting the organization’s assets; ensuring legal and ethical integrity and representing Pro-Choice Washington to the community.

Led, advised and collaborated on strategy development to advance global health advocacy and communications across nine low- and middle-income countries in Africa and Southeast Asia. KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:Developed and implemented successful team- and division-level strategy projects, including: - Developing the foundation’s first primary health care (PHC) advocacy strategy, strengthening efforts globally, and improving PHC financing in Kenya and Indonesia.- Refreshing the Global Media Partnerships team’s $20M global portfolio strategy to increase the salience of global health issues with policymakers across seven countries , elevating key issues to national policy agendas and increasing accountability for their execution.- Assessing the foundation’s low- and middle-income country advocacy operating models, and developing recommendations for more effective, sustainable and inclusive partner engagement and in-country advocacy strategy development and execution.Improved strategic planning, management, and evaluation across teams by developing meaningful goals, outcomes, and success metrics, increasing impact of the portfolios.Co-led the program advocacy and communication team’s DEI journey, including purpose and goal setting, benchmarking and work planning, developing employee training and rolling out new practices, which resulted in a more inclusive team and grant-making strategies.

Led, facilitated and provided critical analysis for large-scale transformation projects for the federal government to ensure all Americans had adequate access to healthcare.KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:Led successful projects, including: - Managing grants for the stand-up of state-based health insurance marketplaces under the Affordable Care Act, bringing health care coverage to more than 20M previously uninsured Americans.- Designing the deployment of the Veteran Benefits Administration’s first paperless claims processing system, expediting the delivery of health services to millions of Veterans.- Developing recommendations for increased efficiencies of the online personal health record keeping for the U.S. Veterans Health Administration.Served as a mentor and deputy career manager to junior staff, conducting annual performance assessments and helping mentees navigate the career development process. Expanded business growth opportunities by developing proposals for federal RPFs and market intelligence materials to strengthen business development efforts across the public health team.

Selected to design and conduct independent policy research in Germany while furthering international collaboration and building relationships with global scholars and public leaders.KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:- Researched Germany’s immigration policies, public attitudes, and socio-political factors influencing migrant children’s access to educational opportunities and social supports, sharing findings to educate and inform global scholars and pundits on the issues immigrants face- Traveled throughout Germany and the EU interviewing immigration experts, and authored the blog “Migrant Nation” to raise awareness around policy, equity and human rights issues related to migration.

Executed advocacy projects to close the educational achievement gap caused by socio-economic inequities in the U.S. educational system.

Investigated federal programs and policies in areas of immigration, education, and environmental protection to inform legislative action by the US Congress.

Assisted senior faculty in academic research projects, most notably work on the culture of peacekeeping. Supported the activities of the Program on the Resolution of Conflict (PARC), including organizing a monthly speaker series on peace and conflict resolution for the university community.

Selected for an experiential leadership training program that prepares individuals to serve as effective and innovative public leaders. Executed consulting projects for nonprofit, private, and public institutions, including St. Louis Public Schools and the American Civil Liberties Union.
