Staum finished her degree at Griffith University with a Batchelor of business in Hospitality and Tourism in 2010. Having worked for a premier catering company for 4 years she was able to build her skills in working outside a ‘normal’ hospitality environment and was always challenged to ‘think outside the box’ & her passion for delivering a perfect experience for her guests. Staum moved into the Accor group in 2013 to move forward in her career as a conference & events supervisor at The Novotel Brisbane she soon progressed to another property The Sofitel Brisbane as Assistant Manager of Conference & Events in 2015. This move provided her the challenge to manage a larger group of staff & manage a higher calibre of events on a daily basis. While at Accor Staum developed her passion for training and developing future leaders of the industry and a passion for consistency and brand standards. In 2016 Staum made the big shift to The Royal National Agriculture Association (RNA) identified as The Royal International Convention Centre, Brisbane Showgrounds and the home to the iconic QLD Royal show the ‘EKKA’. While a challenging role, Staum’s strong background in offsite events and the strong understanding of logistics and planning ensured well executed events ranging from sit down dinners for 1500pax to large festivals for 45000 patrons. This role included the management of over 250 staff and working within a team that delivered over $4million of events each year.Staum measure success on the planning and execution of a successful and memorable event, development & training of staff and a happy client. She prides herself in setting an example and ensuring an understanding of all components of the business.
