Relocated to Moscow from 2003 - 2008 to first establish and then run Hyperion Systems Engineering (Russia). The company runs Hyperion's global activities for the region, such as the solutions for Steel and Aluminium under the BRONER brand and the OTS (Operator Training Simulation) business under the HYPERION SIMULATION brand. From 2003 - 2010 Hyperion Russia operated the software, support and services business portfolio of Aspen Technology for the CIS region. Today the company holds authorised software distributorship agreements with KBC Process Technology and Spiral Software for the Russia/CIS region.

At the time I undertook the Managing Director role, Tradex was a 30-year old, privately-owned, importer and retailer of domestic white goods and professional kitchen equipment in distress. Focusing on tight cash flow management, realignment of imports and inventory planning to match market demand, overhaul of its brand and marketing, we managed to triple the turnover and turn it from loss making to break-even. In turn, and before I exit the sector, I led the merger of Tradex with one of its competitors to create a stronger market player.
