Conducted study for EU Commission on Ethics and Big Data, used to propose new laws. Contributed to Italian normative documents on open data and linked open data. He teaches in the Master Data Science per le Decisioni Pubbliche (Data Science for Public Decisions) program. He has previously taught as a contract Professor for ten years, where he taught courses on Artificial Intelligence and Multi-Agent Systems within the Computer Science department, Science Faculty. He has supervised about 30 dissertations on artificial intelligence, big data, data, and text mining.

As a senior manager, he has extensive experience managing research projects, scouting new grants, developing institutional relationships with universities and research organizations, experimenting with new ideas and techniques, and developing new lines of products in the company. He was responsible for all IT projects, customers, and production software (including CRM, ERP, Business Intelligence, OSS/BSS, etc.) for the company and the corporate DAMOVO (18 other countries).He also managed the start-up of the business unit from scratch to nearly 100 persons (including 15 Senior Project Managers) in the Rome, Naples, and Milan offices.The business unit’s turnover was about 130 million euros per year. He was also responsible for fundraising for more than 30 million euros per year.

As a senior manager, he managed the startup of a spin-off from Diagram APS, aimed at developing hi-tech solutions for middleware and the Web. The company had about 35 employees and generated 5 million euros per year.Under his direction, Artware developed important client-server and Web applications for the Central Government and Banks, such as the first INPS’s (National Institute for the Welfare) Portal, the INAL’s (Italian Workers’ Compensation Authority) service portal, and the Unified Kiosk (Sportello Unico) for all the Central Public Administrations.He also conducted studies on the use of digital signature and asymmetric authentication for the Italian government.
