• Receives organ and tissue donor referrals from New Jersey hospitals and Medical Examiners and then conducts an in-depth screening for suitability to determine eligibility or medical rule out.
• Determines potential tissue donor suitability by collecting clinical information and following FDA and AATB policies and procedures
• Passes potential organ candidates to triage for further evaluation as appropriate. Enters donor referral and donor information into computer system; POAP.
• Coordinates transportation arrangements for delivery of organs and tissues; this includes import offers that are accepted by our network.
• Contacts potential multi-tissue donor families via telephone and offers the option of tissue donation. Obtains medical and social history from consented donor families. Communicates with Network staff and tissue banks.
