As head of the Data Tools and Services group at FORS, I am heavily involved in all projects and services that go beyond the scope of social sciences, namely SWISSUbase, linkhub.ch and Connectome.SWISSUbase – a Modular Research Information and Data Archiving Solution (2019-)After a project phase of 3 years, SWISSUbase has transitioned into a full-fledged service and infrastructure for the management of data and research information for Swiss universities and other research institutions. The project consortium, consisting of FORS, the University of Zurich, the University of Lausanne, and the University of Neuchâtel have successfully set up a cross-disciplinary data archiving and sharing service. This system allows partners to track the projects and research data within their institutions, and allows researchers to archive and share their own data, thus fulfilling the FAIR requirements of funders and journals.

SWISSUbase – a Modular Research Information and Data Archiving Solution (2019-2021)This 3-year project implemented a working infrastructure for the management of data and research information within Swiss universities and other research institutions. Starting from the existing system FORSbase, developed and maintained by FORS in Lausanne, the project consortium, consisting of FORS, the University of Zurich, and the University of Lausanne put into place a modular, interoperable, and generalized research information and data system. This system allows partners to track the projects and research data within their institutions, and allows researchers to archive and share their own data, thus fulfilling the FAIR requirements of funders and journals.ORD@CH - Open Research Data Switzerland (2014-2015):Within the framework of the project Open Research Data Platform Switzerland (ORD@CH), FORS (lead institution), the Digital Humanities Lab of the University of Basel, and the ETH Scientific IT Services / SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics are developing a publication platform for open research data in Switzerland.DwB (Data Without Boundaries) (2012-2015):The Data without Boundaries – DwB – project exists to support equal and easy access to official microdata for the European Research Area, within a structured framework where responsibilities and liability are equally shared. Europe needs a comprehensive and easy-to-access research data infrastructure to be able to continuously produce cutting-edge research and reliable policy evaluations.Official Representative of the ICPSR for Switzerland (2006-2021)Annual Survey on Social Science Research in Switzerland (2002-2022):FORS conducts an annual survey of researchers in the social sciences in Switzerland with the aim of offering a complete overview of research in this field since 1992.
