CurrentPrimary responsibilities are process and equipment development, including expanded use of automation for production, at this approximately 500 employee plant operating in four buildings, part of an international company that produces quartz glassware for the semiconductor industry for use in the processing of integrated circuits. Have worked regularly with engineering teams, production staff (glass blowers), facilities and department managers, EHS manager, and R & D department, as well as suppliers. Part of regular company-wide efforts to initiate and manage modifications and innovations to improve efficiency, cost control, quality and safety.Currently working on several small automation projects for in-house use, some involving UR-Cobots and Artiminds software to program them. Have designed and built the electric cabinets, programmed the PLC (Siemens S7-1200), and performed the machine wiring. Traveled to Japan to be trained on a small automated machine we got custom built at our facility there. Currently training on programming our SCADA system on Siemens WinCC Runtime.Responsibilities include analyzing equipment and process issues and develop fixes to address root causes and maintaining regular contact with vendors and suppliers.Accomplishments include:- designed new cleanroom and acid wash room and all equipment in each (acid tanks, fumes exhaust hoods, rinse stations, automated spray rinse, and drying stations).- after an industrial fire in our production building, participated in rebuilding plans with architects, MEP design engineers, general contractor, and subcontractors. Created equipment layouts, designed equipment, and oversaw the assembly and installation of the equipment.- worked with architects and MEP design engineers on plans to remodel part of factory to bring it up to our new standard which was implemented in the fire rebuild.- received two Tosoh Quartz Incorporate (TQI) "Spot" Awards for "going above & beyond every day job expectations."
