In my role as Community Director I am responsible for strategy and oversight of organization wide animation, member retention, and community engagement both online and offline. Together, we’re building a movement of nonprofits, for-profits,entrepreneurs, artists and activists working across sectors to create a better world.The Agents of Change program is a two year joint accelerator program where the Centre for Social Innovation and the Government of Ontario are supporting up to 40 enterprises working on climate change solutions with workspace, training, mentorship, access to capital, advisory services, impact measurement, and membership in CSI’s community of over 1,000 organizations. As Project Coordinator my job has been to work with our Manager of Impact and Accelerators to build the program, play point for all organizations by connecting them to resources, and coordinate the educational and networking events.Being a Community Animator is all about making this space a better place to work, live and be. My work is to help foster collaboration between our members, solve those pesky little problems that can bog a space down and help make CSI the most enjoyable place to work that it can be. The Toronto Climate Action Network (TCAN) is a network of action-oriented organizations working together to address the threat of climate change. To accomplish this goal TCAN will seek to:1) Foster collaboration and coordination among member groups and with other organizations sharing similar objectives and goals to maximize group success;2) Start a cooperative outreach and education program to improve public awareness, understanding and support for effective action against climate change3) Persuade all levels of government of the urgent need for effective, science-based policies to combat the threat of climate change4) Share information among TCAN members through the use of social media, websites and a common online calendar of eventsAs a part of the Steering Committee our responsibility is to facilitate the discussions, organize and convene meetings, and generally take responsibility for the health of the network as a whole.

Running the Green Society Campaign has been my passion since I co-founded it in 2010. The Green Society Campaign aims to use media, video and community events to educate and strengthen the environmental movement. Our goal is to instil environmentalism into mainstream culture and ingrain the tenets of sustainability into the fabric of our society.My work with the GSC entails, establishing and maintaining overall vision for the campaign, coordinating with other ENGO’s and local green organizations in regards to cooperative projects, writing, editing and shooting both creative videos and video graphic work and directing fundraising and educational events.We've recently begun collaboration with Green Majority Media and are here to serve Toronto's emerging environmental community. In the spirit of Ed Mirvish (he liked a good party!), the Centre for Social Innovation (CSI) proudly presents Toronto for Everyone--the first, last and only event at Honest Ed’s before the site is transformed in 2017.Toronto for Everyone is a multi-day, multidisciplinary, immersive and interactive experience taking place inside Honest Ed’s. The event will take place from February 23-26, 2017 and will bring together the best of Toronto in order to co-create an inclusive experience which brings together individuals, communities, cultures, companies/organizations in a way that’s never been done before.As Community Director, my role is to coordinate the Community Hub, which will be a destination for any/all individuals, community groups and organizations to lead 1-3 hour portions of programming including, but not limited to: workshops, panel discussions, presentations and shows.The Hub is intended as a complementary space for all feelings, conversations, and expressions that relate to Honest Ed’s and inclusivity in Toronto.
