As an underwriting Assistant, I help my Underwriters complete day to day underwriting tasks along withmaintaining the books of each of my underwriters. Right now, I currently have over 400 accounts with acombined premium of $33.5M. The line of business I work in is Casualty Excess/Umbrella.Common tasks I complete throughout the day consist of: Responding to inquiries from agents. Assisting my Underwriters with any tasks they ask of me such as quoting, creating binders,reaching out to billing, following up with agents or anything else they need my help with. Filing any documents that come in and sending follow ups for any we are missing. Processing any endorsements that come in. Prep accounts for renewals starting 120-90 days out from the renewal date. Work with Underwriters to quote and bind accounts, while making sure to keep in compliancewith company and state regulations.

As a Processing Center Representative (PSR), I processed transactions as they came into the center. Inthis position I had to have excellent attention to detail and maintain high quality of work while keepingup with high productivity. This is due to PSR’s being the last ones to touch these transactions beforethey are sent out to insureds and agents.During my time as a PSR I started out with Umbrella/Excess accounts. After becoming proficient in thatline of business I started cross-training in other transaction types. Once a new department along with anew rating system was created for Umbrella Cyber, I become one of the first to be trained and assistwith creating workflows. Eventually training others in this new system as well.Once another new program for a hybrid role combining an underwriting associate and PSR was created Iwas one of the first recommended to join the new role. After completing the hybrid role for a year iswhen I fully moved into the underwriting associate position.
