About Stefanie Moore
I have a passion for all things digital and enjoy learning and teaching about online tools that help us better communicate. As a PR professional, I stress the power of storytelling and great writing. As an information architect, I emphasize the importance of usability and user experience design when it comes to packaging those stories digitally. I am a professor in the School of Media and Journalism at Kent State University where I teach a number of courses, including Digital Relations Tactics, Digital Analytics and Social Media Strategies. I also advise two teams as part of the national PRSSA Bateman competition where students research, plan, implement and evaluate a public relations campaign for a real-world client.As the PR internship coordinator, I work closely with employers and students to ensure students are gaining a meaningful learning experience in the field of PR/communications. I also chair and serve on several school, college and university-wide committees including the award-winning YouToo Social Media Conference planning committee (www.youtoosm.com), the scholarship committee, the website committee and others. My love for technology and digital PR blossomed during my role on Kent State University's Web team where I managed the university's search engine optimization project, usability planning and testing, accessibility efforts, content updates and many other Web-related initiatives. Since then, I was lucky enough to manage Flash Communications, a student-PR agency jointly operated by Kent JMC and University Communications and Marketing, where I oversaw a staff of about 10 students who worked on public relations, marketing and social media initiatives.
