Senior manager for the Major Incident Room (MIR) teams working across the regional Brunel Major Crime Investigation Team. Responsible for leading the teams through change to provide a truly collaborative approach to investigation across all forces that compromise the collaboration. Delivered a standard operating procedure for investigation alongside a continuous improvement process to embed a ‘one team’ ethos. Chair a multi-disciplinary working group to deliver improvements to the system in managing communications data.Following the implementation of new working practices, will be leading a project to define and implement standardisation in MIR roles across the collaboration, in partnership with HR colleagues.

This draws members from the multiple fields which feed into the various aspects of human identification in the living and deceased.Some selected areas in which I supported the association were in the development of a new website, working as a conference convener, organising a career session for conference and the design and implementation of an email newsletter for members.

Working as an adviser nationally and internationally to serious crime investigations on the use of forensic medicine and injury interpretation, as well as on the use of the National Injuries Database.I searched the National Injuries Database to extract and analyse data relating to forensic medicine, compile this data into an intelligence report to be fed into investigations or medical experts supporting them.A large part of my work was to liaise and build relationships with medical experts and stakeholders nationally. I also coordinated and oversaw the support of many of these medical experts to investigations and collect and disseminate good practice.I provided support to the National Injuries Database Manager with the running of the unit, including collection, assessment, and presentation of management data, unit development (e.g. business planning), and ad hoc development projects (e.g. database software development).I also mentored and supervised two colleagues of National Injuries Database Case Support, helping to set learning objectives, overseeing quality assurance of work, ensuring compliance to corporate policy and standards, and coordinating with the National Injuries Database Manager in their development.Working for a major police training organisation I was often required to deliver presentations on the use of the National Injuries Database, forensic medicine, and NPIA Specialist Operational Support to training courses, conferences, and other ad hoc events for police, medical experts, and forensic scientists.I proposed and developed multiple ad-hoc projects, for example good practice documents or a pilot of new technical methods.
