I am a project principal with a background in project management and design working to connect people to their places, their environment, and each other. In almost 30 years of experience, I have focused on being a conduit between owners and design solutions which translate their vision and culture into physical form. My expertise includes understanding industry trends in both the commercial office and education sectors, practical strategies for implementing sustainable and carbon-reduction design solutions, and managing complex and challenging projects. In particular, my experience on mass timber projects of different scales have taught me what can make these projects economical, low-carbon, and beautiful spaces to inhabit. My projects have encompassed a variety of building types including commercial office, workplace design, civic and government facilities, and education projects from PreK-12 to higher education and with an emphasis on mass timber. At the same time, I am passionate about mentoring talent, creating a culture of curiosity and fearlessness, and finding ways to bring more diverse voices and experiences into the design of our environment. I am an extrovert who loves creating connections and learning new things. I have served with the local Portland AIA chapter Board of Directors from 2008-2014, in roles from Board President, to Co-chair of the Chapters' Committee on the Environment and Committee on Architecture for Education.
