This requires the VBA in order to automatically update from a variety of different data stores in order to access the live information. A Historian software is also used to draw relevant data from a database.

Port Talbot

Working on the Margam Mining Project researching legislation and the processes needed to follow when exploration drilling for coal with a view to later extract via mining.

Summer Placement Student based in the Operational Research Department. Covered VBA and JavaScript to a basic level and also assisted with additional computer software use. Assisted with a project which required communication with people across the site via email and phone along with the needed IT skills to set up accounts on the program.Worked to research specific mining methods for potential coal mine development in local area

Link Scheme Placement in Cold Mill Technical Department working mostly with Excel. Reports writing and presentation skills were also needed.Some work covering Statistical Process Control and specific grades of steel and how they are used by the customer.
