Coordinated the new position of Special Needs Coordinator within the organization. Participated on collaborative provincial committees comprised of various Ministries and a provincial Indigenous caucus. Areas of focus include: cultural competency and anti-racism training for the Ontario public sector; development of violence prevention resources for Indigenous students attending school outside their home communities; community safety and healing initiatives; policing and justice best response/practices research; and development of performance measurement frameworks to monitor provincial initiatives responsive to Indigenous need and priority. Preparation of briefing notes, minutes, reports, memorandums and presentations in a timely fashion and appropriately tailored for target audiences

Successfully supported the development and implementation of several Situation Tables in the Thunder Bay region. Situation Tables are composed of multi-sector partners that collaborate to prevent the victimization and criminalization of individuals, groups, or areas within a community.

2009 PROJECT COORDINATOR: BUILDING A HEALTHY COMMUNITYTOWN OF BRUCE MINES & PLUMMER ADDITIONAL TOWNSHIP, BRUCE MINES, ONPUBLICATION: Community in Action Initiative: Building a Healthy Community  Facilitated the coming together of two rural communities to jointly address the needs of area residents in terms of service delivery to support participation in recreational opportunities for all people Designed data collection techniques and key informant interviews Developed promotional materials and engaged with local media to inform all stakeholders Conducted an extensive literature review about recreation participation at the regional, provincial and national levels in order to provide a benchmark to measure local needs  Mediated conflict resolution processes between both communities Collaborated with 35% of community members in the form of interviews, focus groups and town hall meetings to identify recreational interests as well as factors which were preventing participation in recreational activities and events Led the development of recommendations with a Round Table which were responsive to research findings that addressed low-income issues, healthy eating, lack of transportation and social isolation so that all members of the community could increase their participation in community life  Documented all meetings with steering committee and updated the Ministry and councils as required Authored and presented final report to community members, councils and Ministry representatives
