Mojave Desert Land Trust is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that protects the Mojave Desert ecosystem and its scenic and cultural resources. MDLT has conserved and protected over 80,000 acres of land in the Mojave Desert since 2006.My goal was to raise public awareness of environmental science and policy issues and to support MDLT's landscape conservation efforts. Additionally, I managed a subgroup within a desert-wide coalition that wrote a community proposal for a national monument management plan. The plan is a grassroots initiative to provide public land management direction based on community collaboration and current science.I also managed contracts, and I participated in landscape restoration, fieldwork, site assessments, native plant and seed bank activities, volunteer management, and fundraising events.
