I have always loved nature and animals and been passionate about protecting the environment. I know that planning for the future is necessary for developing a sustainable way of life. This requires skills and knowledge in the field of ecology, which I have gained through my time at UCI. I have experience collaborating with others on research from helping to lead a group oak monitoring capstone project and through my time in the Mooney research lab. I learned project management and research techniques, such as technical writing, understanding CEQA, and data collection. I have experience using R, GIS, and Microsoft Office for analysis through different courses I have taken. Working with the community is also important in science and I have done this by working with community partners on the capstone project and through customer service from my time working as a salesclerk at Savers. I graduated with a Masters of Conservation and Restoration Science from UC Irvine and I am now continuing my environmental mission of sustainability at FirstCarbon Solutions.
