Nuclear Reactor Control Room Simulator Facility ManagerUs Navy May 2016 - Apr 2019Norfolk, Virginia AreaManaged the life-cycle support of hardware, software, information technology systems and facilities environmental equipment ensuring customer’s continual access to a feature-rich, secure, and highly available resource to ensure crews would be training on the most accurate and state of the art equipment.Managed eight senior level operators who deliver training to 250 students per year. Developing realistic training for 12 submarine crews ensuring that the standards set forth by Naval Reactor are adhered to. The proficiency gained by operators on a state-of-the-art simulation platform ensures the crews can operate without external support an indefinite amount of time. This training given has been validated by Nuclear Propulsion Examination Boards audits of area submarines, where they constantly perform above standards.Directed the planned and corrective maintenance of all critical server equipment and building systems, including the replacement of $5 million HVAC, atmospheric controls systems, computer network hardware and the UPS upgrade. These replacements required careful planning to minimizing time lost to the submarine crew training. -
Director Of Maintenance And Operations (Engineering Department Master Chief)Us Navy Jun 2013 - May 2016Uss Boise (Ssn 764), Norfolk, Virginia AreaThe senior nuclear operator within the organization, I managed 75 employees on the proper administration, supervision, safety, maintenance, and operations of all associated mechanical and electrical systems. I directed the safe operations of the nuclear power plant while the ship operated six months overseas with near-zero outside vendor assistance.Operating in the harshest of environments, I developed and delivered 234 hours of advanced training survivability training to the entire organization. This training consisted of simulated conditions in which the members of the organization would be evaluated by external audit teams. This culminated in the organization operating in the top 5% of 62 ships. Utilizing Microsoft Project to complete seven (7) arduous maintenance periods, I coordinated efforts between six vendors and one government shipyard to ensure all work was completed on-time. Using the lessons learned from other organizations and my organizations previous maintenance periods, I was able to develop a schedule that allowed two maintenance periods to finishing early saving the Navy over $100,000. I established a robust building block approach to the training and qualification programs. This resulted in higher problem identification and resolution, increasing productivity and error reduction measured by the External Auditors.Developed new processes, programs, policies and procedures resulting in 20%-time savings to the organization. The results of these programs and policies were documented in the Director of Naval Nuclear Propulsion quarterly report. -

As the senior operator for the division I directed the safe operations of the ships nuclear reactor including controlling reactor power. -
