After more than 20 years of clinical and scientific work with pediatric patients suffering from a neurodegenerative disease, the impetus and vision for a lasting cure has remained with me. Based on my many years of clinical experience and my deep understanding of disease mechanisms, it is straightforward for me to develop new drug targets and novel therapeutic approaches. There is a tremendous need for novel therapies against dementia in all age groups, and I am convinced that we are privileged to witness the introduction of new innovative therapies against neurodegenerative diseases into the clinic. I am ready to do my part as a motivating leader and great team worker in a multidisciplinary collaboration to achieve this goal.
