A love of chemistry and the hands-on aspects of mechanical engineering and machining lead me to my current role as a chemical engineer. I spent my youth in the army as a cryptological linguist, specializing in signals intelligence and the Russian language. After leaving the service I worked as a warehouse manager before discovering my interest in chemistry, mathematics, and the practical application of science. In my current role as a chemical engineer at Plasma Processes I have established a good understanding of electrochemistry, specifically electroforming near-net-shape components from refractory metals in molten salt electrolytes. I have had the opportunity to supplement this experience in an R&D facility by developing and documenting ICP-OES and microwave digestion techniques, self-trained on SolidWorks to design fixturing, tooling and mandrels for electrodeposition, and began developing my project engineering skills. I pride myself on a can-do attitude and find myself most comfortable working alongside those that are getting the job done.
