My responsibilities within this role include managing small groups of high school students whilst out on hillwalking expeditions, as well as teaching groups navigation and good practice in rural environments.

This role involves engaging with and inspiring members of the public about the work of the Woodland Trust, with the aim of recruiting financial support through memberships.

This role involves advising customers on appropriate outdoor clothing and equipment whilst also maintaining a high level of customer service.

Real-time remote monitoring of hauled-out grey seal females and newborn pups via stationed live video recorders, to identify any behavioural responses to military activity during a four week exercise. This temporary role involved camera operation, photo-ID of recorded individuals, and data entry.

During my month-long internship I gained vital experience in:• Photo-ID• Boat-based cetacean surveys, focusing on behavioral and distributional data• Acoustic Monitoring• GIS mapping techniques• Live whale stranding response - this involved crowd control and working with a variety of different organisations.Collected and collated data for my 4th year dissertation looking at Cape fur seal entanglement rates and geographical differences along Namibia’s coastline.

This role required me to change over multiple rooms in a short time-frame, taking bookings, and offering general information to guests about the local area. This was a highly physical role, and to succeed I needed to be efficient but also with close attention to detail.

My role here involved day and night shifts, and my main responsibility was to communicated with expedition leaders, parents, and teachers during active expeditions, and to appropriately escalate in-country events. I not only gained knowledge of expedition logistics, but also confidence in dealing with stressful situations; One example being a major helicopter evacuation in Thailand.

In addition to turning over the 50 bedrooms in a single morning, this role required me to serve food to up to 100 guests in one sitting, and tend the on-site bar. On some occasions, I was responsible for being on-duty and respond to guest requests throughout the night, and act as the main person in charge of any fire alarm response.
