As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and Registered Nurse, I strive to provide compassionate, family and people-centred care that incorporates evidence and best practices to support optimal outcomes. I am also an Assessor for the Breastfeeding Committee for Canada, a national not-for-profit organization that protects, promotes and supports breastfeeding and the implementation of the World Health Organization's Baby-Friendly Initiative (BFI). The BFI has been proven to reduce health inequities for structurally vulnerable populations by improving breastfeeding outcomes. Finally, to expand my knowledge and skills, I am pursuing a Masters in Nursing degree with a focus in leadership, enabling me to engage more meaningfully with literature, in project and quality improvement work, and in committee membership.
