I have worked for the same facility for almost 20 years with many different job titles. I started out as a day care teacher in the day care center they had in 1997. When they decided to close the day care center two years later I took advantage of their CNA training program and worked on the pediatrics unit for a while. Then I became a unit clerk on a medical-surgical floor for 4 and 1/2 years, after that I went to work in the Patient Billing Department for 7 years. Then I went to work in the Daily Operation Department for 3 years. Now I am currently working in the payroll department as a Compensation Specialist. Working in all of these different departments has giving me a vast knowledge base of medical terminology and of how all of the different departments effect one another. It has also given me a greater appreciation of the different departments within the facility.
