Currently I work as the manger for EHT (communication Technology specifically). I am responsible for managing a large team on a very technical and high grossing department.I have been able to hone excellent customer service skills through working in customer services environment. On a daily basis I motivate, empower and Influence my team and my peers, through the use of my interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, also using my positive and upbeat attitude. I am able to see problems as challenges and the use my diplomatic nature to help me solve challenges I may face. My positive outlook also enables me to encourage my team to do the best in their day to day work, but also meaning that they can confide in me, leading to an open and honest working culture and relationship. This way of working is a method I favour as I feel it creates positive results in a team environment.I have been able to drive sales through merchandising, monitoring sales, keeping abreast of the competition by competitive shopping, maintaining relationships with head office and buying team through regular communication and to drive excellent customer service. I have also been involved in the feeding back of customer survey results across the branch which has displayed my analytical skills and seen further use of my influencing, diplomacy and feedback skills. In the past two years i have been responsible for planning and running stock takes which has made good use of my ability to plan and prioritise. I also manage the day to day running of a shop floor which includes tasks, such as, cashing handling (use of various systems and cashing up), health and safety (making sure my team and peers are up to date with health and safety training and in some cases delivering that training), organising pay and staffing on a budget and day to day building of relationships between myself, my peers and my team.

This role enabled me to develop the essential skills to work within a retail environment (good team skills, product knowledge and good customer service), this role has also given me the opportunity to become more commercially aware of women's fashion in general. The area in which I worked, was made up of women's wear and lingerie, beauty, hand bags and women's accessories and haberdashery. I am flexibly trained in all of these areas and have under taken roles in bra fitting and fashion advisory. I have presented workshops on colour and trend to my team, to help increase sales through knowledge of these topics. I was also a customer service leader, a role which helped managers to perform excellent customer service and helped run the department at peak and busy shopping periods. As well as working with my initial team, i have also provided support to the haberdashery department, running summer activity workshops for children. Leading on from this I have had articles published in the John Lewis staff magazine, with step by step instructions of how to make home crafted item's.

My duties whilst at the Championships consisted of: Being responsible for the opening of a small kiosk inside the grounds, re-stocking and replenishing the products within the kiosk, merchandising the kiosk for optimum sales. Whilst in this position the skills and task required from me were: Dealing with the general public, good time keeping, working as part of a team, money handling and product knowledge.

Working as a check out operative at Morrison's, my role included: Money handling, operating a till, customer service, product knowledge, cleaning and basic food hygiene.
