As a Legal Advisor at Discovery Health, I provide legal advice within Group Forensic Services, a department that investigates and prevents fraud, waste, and abuse in the healthcare sector. I have been in this role for over nine years, applying my extensive background and credentials in law, which include a BCom LLB degree from the University of Pretoria.My core competencies include administrative law, data analysis, and litigation, which enable me to handle complex and sensitive cases involving various stakeholders, such as clients, providers, regulators, and law enforcement agencies. I am passionate about protecting the integrity and reputation of Discovery Health, as well as ensuring the best outcomes for its members and partners. My mission is to uphold the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct in the dynamic and challenging legal environment. During my days in private practice 3 of the matters I dealt with in the Supreme Court of Appeals were reported. I was also successful with a matter in the Constitutional Court. I also had the privilege. to appear in Parliament to make recommendations on the constitutionality of certain legislation where the legislation was later withdrawn for being unconstitutional.The one matter I dealt with in the Supreme Court of Appeals was described by the then Chief Justice Langa and Justice Cameron as one of the 10 most important cases dealt with by the (SCA) in an article written in The Advocate.
